Poesy and Poise Flash Contest

The contest is held on every Saturday and is open until next day. You are provided with an image. Interpret or respond with your thoughts in free verse #poem #tanka #haiku. Use a limit of minimum 5 lines.

The Writer Monk is a platform for aspiring writers to showcase their talent, skill in writing. The Writer Monk messengers “The Writer Monk Facebook Group” help them reach their voice to the right audience across borders. The “Poesy and Poise” event gives them an opportunity to present their skill. They can interact directly with a larger and wider audience.

This contest was held on 28 June 2025. The image is attached with the poem (mentioned below). The winner of the flash contest receives a winner “Certificate.” They also get an opportunity to place their poem on The Writer Monk website. This helps in sharing there work on their own timeline as well in their own groups.

Born beauties
dream taller
a beautiful sight
the stars in our homes
spineless children dreamer
unruly rays that escaped
from the throne of the Sun
our warm

Our years in harmony
wheel asleep
sweet error
the bonds of ethereal
and that the dawn
separate star
awake in our eyes

golden smiles
flowers dream
spoils the moonlit
sky of love

brilliant colors
dreams uninhabited
divided
dreamers of the eyelashes
resting
