Introducing January, 2014 Issue (From The Editor`S Desk)

Dear Readers,
“Greetings!” Wish you all Season`s best for a prosperous new year. We are ecstatically happy to present before you exquisitely talented poets and writers from around the globe.
English, as an ever-growing language has taken in its fold the world writing in the Queen`s language, remembering some valuable words of the Indian born writer, Salman Rushdie, author of “Midnight`s Children”, once asserted that “Commonwealth Literature does not exist”. Blue Cygnus explores literatures` shifting margins, endeavors to erase every border to recognize the best of talents from the Non-English speaking countries as well, other than the emerging writers, Indian diasporas and writers of the Queen`s language.
The founder of “Blue Cygnus” enunciated his vision for a magazine of literature and the arts on 19th of October 2013, on the tenth day of Navaratri, Bijoya Dashami, the day that marks the return journey of goddess Durga to her husband Shiva from her father`s abode. The emersion of her idol in the river Ganges leaves behind her promise to return again next year to renew and rejuvenate the spirit of life. The day is significant for fostering the feeling of brotherhood and love. Blue Cygnus aims to foster the feeling of brotherhood and unity among the writers and artists around the world through the exchanges of their ideas and creative pursuits.
This literary extravaganza is committed to perk up the understanding and growth of literature, a home for all experiences associated with literature and living. We at Blue Cygnus hold the belief that everyone has the ability to bring something beautiful into this world, we congratulate our published poets, authors and writers for their brilliant contributions, making our first issue a very special one. In this new year issue we have published twenty three brilliant poets, eight exquisitely talented short story writers, one remarkable novel, a brilliant piece of fiction, two beautiful essays and an interesting piece of travelogue. The other section of literature and arts that would feature in our forthcoming issues will be announced a month before each publication. Our submission call will commence a month prior to the publication.
We look forward to an enriching exploration of the world of literature and art.

     Warm Regards,
Paromita Bhattacharjee
     [Editor-in-Chief]
