***Eftichia Kapardell’s “ΜΕΡΕΣ  ΥΠΟΜΟΝΗΣ/ Days
of patienceis #190 in the never-ending series called        BACKSTORY OF THE POEM where the Chris Rice Cooper Blog (CRC) focuses on one specific poem and how the poet wrote that specific poem.  All BACKSTORY OF THE POEM links are at the end of this piece.

Can you go through the step-by-step process of writing this poem from the moment the idea was first conceived in your brain until final form? Yes. I usually write like that because I'm here in the feeling of the psychic moment I capture I live the feeling with the pen

Where were you when you started to actually write the poem?  And please describe the place in great detail. The poem refers to the days of patience. All my life I remember being patient for everything ... for love, work, laughter, tears ...... beauty ... the result It's a poem of the soul

What month and year did you start writing this poem? I wrote it last year Usually writing belongs to Autumn An era where poets are inspired even though my season is Spring

How many drafts of this poem did you write before going to the final? (And can you share a photograph of your rough drafts with pen markings on it?) Personally, I don't make too many corrections. I believe that when you have inspiration, you just write and then with purity of mind you correct the words and place them as when you decorate your soul with roses of patience, that is, the beauty of your own soul.  Of course I choose the pen and the paper but then I transfer it to the computer and there I make the corrections

Were there any lines in any of your rough drafts of this poem that were not in the final version?  And can you share them with us? I write short poems with deep meanings I use a few words as many as I need and if I think they do not fit the beauty and the song of the rhyme of the poem I just turn them off and let them have a nice sound

What do you want readers of this poem to take from this poem? People find it difficult to read poetry in Greece Poetry is pieces of the poet's soul that most of the time can be pieces of other people who do not have the talent to write them. Sensitive people need poetry because their daily cycle is drowning I chose this poem because it is a whole timeless piece of my own soul There is another that has the title "Dreaming" a second big piece that complements me and that's why I think poets should always dream

Which part of the poem was the most emotional of you to write and why?
The stars hit the window

  light beams
glide and emerge as embossed figures

I gather the light with the figures  I merge
I return to the good days

where the eyes in the blue uninterrupted
  rest

Always the blue of the sky the pure beautiful eyes will be filled with light ........... and with hope
Always goodness will win and the days will remain in my eyes bright and blue without darkness and ugly
Nothing can scare my soul

Has this poem been published before?  And if so where?
Yes, not in my book but in a magazine and it has been translated into Spanish

Days of patience
Scattered ashes
in a colorful world of
white bodies

Days of patience
distorted, unrecognizable
they cover me
empty pages look like
and the words in their small cell
filling the gap indifferently

But a kiss and a dream
still persists and deserves me

The stars hit the window
  light beams
glide and emerge as embossed figures

I gather the light with the figures I merge
I return to the good days

where the eyes in the blue uninterrupted
  rest
Días de paciencia

Cenizas dispersas
en un mundo colorido de
cuerpos blancos

Días de paciencia
distorsionados,
irreconocibles
me cubren
me gustan las páginas
vacías
y las palabras en su
pequeña celda
llenando el espacio
indistintamente

Pero un beso y un sueño
todavía persiste y me
merecen

Las estrellas golpean la
Ventana
haces de luz
se deslizan y emerger
como figuras en relieve
Recojo la luz con las
figuras, me fundo
Regreso a los días buenos
donde los ojos en el azul
ininterrumpidamente
descansaron
